Dish TV will Increase Transponders Capacity with SES-8 Satellite

SES-8 is a geostationary communication satellite by SES. This satellite was successfully launched in 3 December 2013.

This satellite will be co-located with Nss6 at 95.0 Degree East for provide communications bandwidth in the Asia Pacific region. This satellite also will be use for expand capacity of DTH service. Although Dish TV direct to home service is already using same location, 95.0 Degree so Dish TV will increase transponder thru this satellite. As of now Dish Tv using 3 satellites, Asiasat, Insat 4B, and Nss6 but all are in different location. So this is best chance for dish TV to increase channels.

In a recent interview with TelevisionPost.com, Dish TV CEO RC Venkateish had said that the company is looking to add five transponders from SES to beef up its existing capacity. “We have got one transponder already allocated and this should cost us about $1.3 million as rental outgo per year,” he had told. Dish TV also has a long term contract for additional transponders on Asiasat, which it signed in 2010.

This satellite has 33 Strong ku-band transponders which will be use for communication and DTH purpose very soon.
